Our Candles

Generally Speaking:

The candles we crank out at FD & Son are nothing short of special. From the raw materials that make up the soy wax combined with the careful consideration that went into the combination of fragrances, these candles are sure to stand out in anyone's rotation of wax lights.

Come for the fragrance and stay for the long, clean, burn time that comes with the use of soy wax as opposed to candles made of paraffin wax.

Soy Wax vs Paraffin Wax:

There are many pros and cons that come with the use of either wax.

Considered to be the luxury of candle waxes, soy wax is made from from renewable resources and emits less soot as an environmentally friendly option. Furthermore, soy is considered to be a superior fragrance carrier which affords it the freedom from chemical scent amplifiers found in other types of waxes. 

Due to the nature of the source, soybeans, it's common to notice variations in the wax throughout the year such as the hardness of the wax or how translucent wax may be when it's melted into a pool of the fragrant goodness we create in the lab.

Paraffin wax, on the other hand is less expensive as a by-product made from refinery of petroleum, oil shale, or coal. And that's all we have to say about that.

Our Scents:

"2020" (BLM). This is the candle we started with. This candle carried FD & Son through the coronavirus pandemic and into the homes of people who stood with us in the name of justice and equality. With fruity and floral notes that most people consider to smell like their favorite soap, this candle is expected to remain the best seller for years to come.

Eucalyptus Spearmint. Simply put, this is mint green stress relief in a beer can glass. With just enough eucalyptus, and the right amount of spearmint, this wax light should quickly make it to the top spot on the favorite spa's candle list. 

Rosemary Mint. This is the first candle we created as a team. This candle was a true learning experience and challenged the team to go back to the drawing board and show the world what FD & Son stands for. Currently sold out due to overwhelming demand and the supply interference COVID-19 brought with it, Rosemary Mint 2.0 is in the works  and highly anticipated.

Seasonal Scents:

Pumpkin Spice. Synonymous with autumn, family holidays and warmth, this candle will be at the epicenter of all of your fall gatherings. Your family and guests will involuntarily gravitate towards the room this candle is in if they're expecting turkey or pie while visiting their favorite person that has a great taste in candles.  

Coming Soon:

Our fifth candle is well underway. Code name: Project V, also known as P5. You'll have to check back to find out more. Or check us out on instagram @fdnson to see if you can spot clues about P5. While we may only hint on social media before everything is finalized, the official announcement will drop on Facebook and Instagram simultaneously once Shopify is updated to reflect Project V's availability to the public.
